Criteria for Green IT Achievement

Achieve Recognizable Status

The Green IT Achievement Program uses green computing best practices to help units determine if they are eligible for the program.

How the Green IT Departmental Checklist Is Scored

Eight of the items on the departmental checklist are required, and your unit must follow those practices to be eligible for any achievement level. If your unit complies with all required items, it is eligible.

The other items on the departmental checklist each have a point value, which is listed in parentheses after each item (2pts). Some of these additional items do not apply to every unit, so the program is based on those that do apply. To determine whether your unit is eligible for bronze, silver, or gold achievement, use this formula:

  • A = Total points of all additional items that apply to your unit
  • B = Total points of all these applicable items that your unit has implemented.

  • If B ÷ A = 75% or more, your unit is eligible for Gold.
  • If B ÷ A = 50%-74%, your unit is eligible for Silver.
  • If B ÷ A = 49% or less, your unit is eligible for Bronze
