Green IT Achievement Program Team

The Green IT Achievement Program Team, in coordination with the Data Center/Server Room and Desktop Technologies team, developed green computing benchmarks for use in recognizing U-M departments as official “Climate Saver.” for their green computing practices. The goal of the Green IT Achievement Program Team is to establish green computing practices as the cultural norm at U-M.

Team Objectives

  • Identify a green IT achievement program and detail how it will be managed
  • Determine how to recognize and reward departments for their green IT achievements
  • Classify how metrics will be used as standards for achievement
  • Build a winning approach to persuade U-M units to participate in the program

MaryBeth StuenkelMaryBeth Stuenkel, Team Lead
Stuenkel, manager of groupware services for Information and Technology Services, has worked at the University of Michigan for 20 years at the medical campus and ITCS. She hopes the Green IT Achievement Program has a significant impact and can be used as a model beyond the two-year time frame.
